Privacy Policy
This policy explains how The Golden Feather handles information submitted through the private matchmaking intake and optional public directory. It is a working policy for legal review and should be finalized with counsel before launch.
Information we collect
We collect account information, contact details, Instagram and/or X profiles, profile answers, relationship preferences, religion preferences when provided, private story text, optional Enneagram reflection answers and results after acceptance if you choose to provide them, public directory card information if you publish a card or ask us by direct message to publish one, profile-share requests, uploaded directory photos, and basic technical information needed to operate the site.
How we use it
We use this information to create and review your profile, verify identity or social presence, communicate with you, publish and maintain your public directory card if you choose to create one, review profile-share requests, share your Instagram or X with someone only when you ask us to, let the other person share back if they are interested, operate and secure the service, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations. Optional Enneagram reflection information is used only as additional context.
Sensitive information
Some answers may reveal sensitive information, including religion, relationship interests, sexual orientation inferences, personality or psychological inferences from optional reflection answers, and details you choose to include in your private story. Please do not include government IDs, financial account credentials, health records, or anything you do not want us to review.
Sharing
We do not sell your profile information. Your public directory card does not display your Instagram or X. If you ask us to share your profile with someone, we may send that person your submitted Instagram or X profile and your note. If they are interested too, they may share their profile back. If you publish a public directory card or ask us by direct message to publish one, the information shown on that card is visible to the public until you unpublish it or request removal. We may use service providers such as hosting, authentication, storage, email, security, analytics, or payment providers as needed to run The Golden Feather. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect safety, or with your direction.
Retention
We keep profile information while your account is active or while needed for matchmaking operations, legal compliance, security, dispute resolution, or fraud prevention. You may ask us to delete your account information, subject to reasonable legal and operational limits.
Security
We use private storage, access controls, authentication, and limited internal review practices. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so we collect only what is useful for matchmaking and avoid unnecessary high-risk data.
Your choices
You may request access, correction, deletion, or limitation of your information by contacting The Golden Feather. You can unpublish your public directory card from the directory profile page. Some states provide additional privacy rights depending on residency and legal thresholds.
